| Communication was the number one issue with this company. We have told to start the job after our holiday but they started anyway and demanded a payment. Replacing the rotted window frames was the main reason we looked for tradesmen on this website. They did not complete this task. They only did patchwork and painted on top. It is not a great work. Wanted to be replaced, not repatched. The quote they gave us said "replace". From the outside, we thought they did a great job. However after talking to tenants, we discovered things are not that great. Left the job without completing and broke window. They left so much mess and tenants had to ask them to clean up. They did not turn up when they said they did and came to do the job whenever suited them. Not a great communication. We have sent so many e-mails to get the mess sorted and complete the job they said they would do. I just gave up on them now. Overall, the company did not complete the job we agreed on. We relied on the reviews on this site and picked Up'n'up roofing to do our job, but we made a big mistake. This company should have stick to painting job - which they did a good job. It's a shame Scott was nice when we met and talked, but whoever was doing the work (maybe subs?) disappointed us. I hope people read this review and think twice before choosing their tradesman. | Good I'm really disappointed in the way this job turned out. I find emails difficult during a busy work day and as your wife stated that you did not wish to be contacted by phone this accounted for the lack of communication. We were given a verbal go-ahead on site to start "when we were free" and so we did. Our quotes and invoices all state that payment is to be made upon completion unless there is an agreed upon progress payment scheme (which we had.) and we are strict about this as many people have let me down in the past by not paying for work. We did quote repairing the window instead of replacing to save you some money and this should have been a great solution. Unfortunately as you say we had a sub contractor do the work and it was obviously not up to standard but I hope that you feel the remedies I made personally are. | Scott is friendly and responds instantly to communications, but was let down by his staff on my job - labourers were rough on the roof and fix-ups were needed, but Scott took responsibility and worked very hard to make things right. | They arrived to quote the job the same day they called and offered 3 different options and quotes in writing the same day. Work was completed the first day the weather permitted. I cannot comment on the workmanship as I haven't been up on the roof to look but it appears a neat job and we have had no further leaks! A nice couple of guys to deal with and would recommend. | The tap/mixer was not installed properly, I have low water pressure now from that tap. The tap leaks under the sink. They repeatedly ignored my messages.Then they tried to fix it, but couldn't. I asked them to provide someone who could fix it. They ignored me.

| had an accident and injured himself, so we had to re-establish contact - but provided quote in timely manner after that. did get another few quotes from elsewhere - these guys still seemed pretty competitive. after we finally made contact the job was done quickly & efficiently, to a good standard. They also suggested we got the roof repainted while they were up there. The price also seemed reasonable so we went ahead. Nice, friendly guys. Unfortunately there was miscommunication about some leftover house paint which we really needed but they used. This is still to be remedied but they have acknowledged the problem and say they will come over & discuss it. House was painted using a spray method so was finished very quickly. This left alot of paint vapour around the site. Was lucky no other houses in close proximity. Warranty for 5yrs on house and 3yrs on roof supplied. | Excellent at selling and securing the job. Turned up to do the job without piror notice when it was specifically required; carport repainting was not done as part of contract, reason given was paint was used up and carport in not good shape; after owner pushing, they came back to finish it off. When contract signed, painter explained two coats required and one day in-between for drying, it turned out the two costs were appllied one after another in the same afternoon. Painter explained there was no problem with this with the good weather? Some touch-up job needed to be done. Owner offerred to make 50% payment and 50% at completion, painter said it's OK to pay full after completion. Owner made contact a few times to finalize a date and time. It was only confirmed after 10pm the day before (by builder crack message), of course owner only found out on the day (away from home). When the touch-up was done, owner said payment would be made the same day on internet banking, yet painter demanded payment on spot. Feel it was unreasonable given such late notice and owner virtually didn't have time to prepare cash or cheque when not home. Painter reluctantly accepted that. Previously verbally painter confirmed 3 years' guarantee for workmanship, yet only 2 years on paper when job done. Overall, the company seems to be new trying to establish customer base. Good repsonse and reasonable quote in the beginning, but owner feels let down by the incidents afterwards. I was happy with the job we did and felt we conducted ourselves professionally. I apologize for giving insufficient notice before turning up, The nature of painting is that the weather plays a huge part on when work can be completed, I have to take advantage of good weather and can only give as much notice as I have that it will be a fine day. After waterblasting it became apparent that the shed roof was in extremely poor condition, I was uncomfortable to even work on it. The client was contacted promptly and offered a very reasonable price to replace it. Client agreed not to go ahead with painting upon my advice and so the extra paint was used on the house. Unfortunately the same amount of paint was used and I was unable to provide a discount off the original price. In regards to the two coats of paint applied, good weather has a huge impact on drying time. I recommended a day of drying time to allow for poor or cold weather to avoid disappointment that a job may take longer, again this is the nature of exterior painting. The "touch-up" jobs included cleaning the gutters to an extremely high standard although the job is very close to the beach. I am pleased to say we left them immaculate when this was asked of us. and applying paint to a missed spot in a back corner, it was very small but I am disappointed to have missed it. We also had to come back to remedy the issue of the shed roof as client decided, against my advice, to have it painted, I carried the cost of this extra paint. I was uncharacteristically abrupt about payment due solely to the issues I faced with the client during the job. Due to the level of damage to the shed roof (as discussed with client) I could no longer offer a 3year warranty, I offered 2years and will stand by them but as it was against my professional opinion to paint the roof at all I would have preferred not to offer a warranty. Again I am sorry if my conduct was not satisfactory as I work hard to develop great relationships with clients and a good reputation. I hope the client was left feeling that the work itself was well done and professional. | ||||||||||

Job is now finished, we had some issues with the paint drying over the cold winter months, and Scott came back a couple of times to to fix the problem at no extra cost. We are pretty happy with the results. Cheers. | This man is a complete lair. Promised to start job for me early in the morning, I waited whole day on a building site in the cold wind. Called, txted, no response. He asked to source the paint for my job because it's easier for him. But added lots unnecessary and unmentioned stuff in the bill. Keep changing promise and communication was incredibly terrible. Did not understand my paint speficication, try to do my job in a very unprofessional way. I was ready to pay him cash for the material he promised to source for me, but he did not show up. Put the money back in the bank on the same day. He asked me for money the next day(Saturday), I just can't get the cash for him in the weekend. He just can not do what he promised. All client watch out for his tradesman. He might seem helpful in the beginning, but it will turn sour when you refuse to let him rip you off. | I take great offence at being called a liar. I have documented proof that what this client is alleging is untrue, emails between her and I clearly show she has fabricated most of what she is saying in her review of us. I could go thru her review point by point, however I think most people will understand from her tone, and how she says she "put the money back in the bank" that she is not being 100% honest here, I am content that I did everything I could to please this client, and have wished her well with her project. | ||||
