Replace flue required on new fireplace

| Description | Recently moved into a brand new house and have found the fire place to be extremely noisey, with wind noise and [www] fire is Lady Kitchener and we believe the flue is a standard type. I have spoken to the installer and he is telling me that all will be right once we start using the fire. I seriously doubt this and am relutant to use the fire because it will soil the flue. The ideal suitation is for him to change the flue to a suitable one and take back the standard flue. Obviously we would be happy to pay for the upgrade. from talking to him over the phone, i get the feeling he is not interested in fixing the problem and is giving me the run around. A neigbour of ours had a fire installed last week and i asked the installer to pop over to check ours out. He immediately said the flue was unsuitable and should not have been used as we are in a very high wind zone. He recommended a eco type flue with different type of cowl. So what I am after, is options to consider and pricing to replace the flue to one suitable for our weather conditions. We would be keen to get this sorted fairly quickly as we have wood being delivered this week and am champing at the bit to use the fire! Looking for qualified installers who have experience with installations in very high wind environment. Thanks. |
