| Description | We have a rangehood in our kitchen which is in recirculating mode but is capable of being externally ducted. It's in the centre of the house, and external access for the ducting would either have to go through the roofspace of an adjoining bathroom then a bedroom and out through the wall (about 10m - our preferred option) or up the wall of the void above the kitchen, then through the roof (about 15m, not our preferred option for aesthetic reasons). Other ducting already exists in the bathroom/bedroom ceiling from the extractor fan in the bathroom. The rangehood is about 10 years old, fisher and paykel, but still seems to function well on recirculate model. The house is actually an apartment (but more like a townhouse, just on top of another building) and has exterior monolithic style cladding. We would like someone to assess whether some kind of boost fan will be required if the fan on the existing rangehood isn't strong enough, install a boost fan (or new rangehood...) if required, provide and install the ducting, including a covering for the exposed portion in the kitchen and repairing any holes that need to made in the ceilings etc and provide and install an appropriately watertight external vent. Needs to meet any applicable standards with regards the ducting not being a fire hazard. We would like to have the work done in June or August if possible. |
