DescriptionWe have a 1960's weather board house, with a 1970's extension.

The roof is Atlas concrete tiles.

In the extension, the ceiling is white ceiling tile, made of paper or wood pulp.

In one spot, the paint is breaking up, and it is spongy to press on. Today with the rain it started dripping yellow liquid.

Insulation was laid down in the last 12 months, but the flaking was there before that.

It's in a potentially tricky spot near the outside wall, so not much roof space.

That's the first part. Getting the ceiling tiles replaced, and what ever else that will need.

The second part is to fix the cause.
Given the location I can think of 3 possible causes.
1. Damaged or leaking roof tile
2. Overflowing gutter (slight corner in the gutter nearby)
3. Problem with the roof join between the original roof and the extension

And preferably a check to see if anywhere else is leaking too.
