| Description | This was an ongoing DIY project for me, due to be completed in time to rent my one-bedroom inner-city flat in an old building in time for the RWC. Unfortunately, an accident (nothing to do with the DIY) has put me in a wheelchair for the next six weeks. I am looking for someone to finish off the kitchen (not much left to do), complete the bathroom (which includes putting in a vinyl floored raised semi-wet area shower, some framing and cabinet installs, WC install etc), the plumbing is almost complete. And then there is replacement carpet to go down in the living and bed rooms, and decorating in the living room (including cutting and painting some desk shelves and that sort of thing, and mounting the TV to the wall.); and probably quite a few bits and pieces I haven't thought of. Because of the nature of the job, it may not be able to be completed in one stretch - eg: shower glass still needs to be ordered etc. So I am looking for someone who is flexible, has plenty of time over August, can provide good references (here or elsewhere), and will work on an hourly-rate basis. Must be a good communicator, as I am unable to access the flat, and there will have to be plenty of discussion and trust to ensure that what gets done is essentially in line with what I was planning to do. I would punt at it being about 10 days work for a professional, but really, I've not much idea - several of my friends think it will be less than that. |
